墨絵、書、そして日本画へ

梨水 RISUI

私が墨絵を始めたのは1988年、書の師でもあった伯母・松本梨花の勧めによるものでした。伯母が所属していた「墨人社」の主宰者 故内山雨海先生は「書画一体」ということを基本としていて、書と墨絵、両方学ぶことで１つの世界が完成する、という考え方だったからです。それで、同じく「墨人社」の菊水黄水先生に墨絵を習い始め、先生が93歳で亡くなるまで20年間指導を受けました。
また、長年にわたりモノクロームの墨絵を描き続けているうちに、いつの間にか私の頭の中にあふれかえっていた色たちが、岩絵具と出会ったことで炸裂。自分でも驚くような色使いで、身近な動物たちをポップな日本画で描いています。墨絵と日本画は、私の表現の静と動、陰と陽です。この陰陽が整ってようやく自分のアートが統合したという思いがしています。岩絵具のマットな質感は、墨とはまた違う魅力で私を虜にするのです。2018年より渡邉貴裕氏に師事。

I started to learn sumi-e in 1988 on the advice of my aunt who was my calligraphy teacher. Her master was Ukai Uchiyama who was known as a genius artist of ink painting and calligraphy. He taught his pupils a lot of specific skills and brought up many unique artists. My teacher was one of them. When I first met her, she was already over 70 years old but her paintings were beautiful and powerful, I soon decided to become her pupil and learn her esprit and techniques. Now my teachers are no longer in this world but what they taught me still lives inside me. I would like to transmit this traditional art in my turn, not only to preserve it but also to share the happiness it brings. I believe that this is my mission, and I sincerely aspire to share in with you, my student to be.

Also, while I have been painting monochrome sumi-e for many years, the colors had overflowed in my head, and they exploded when I encountered mineral pigments. Now I paint familiar animals as pop Japanese painting in amazing colors. Sumi-e and Japanese painting are stilness and motion, yin and yang of my expression. I feel that my art has finally been integrated when this yin and yang is in place. I am fascinated by the matte texture of mineral pigments with a different charm from ink.

J’ai commencé à apprendre le sumi-é en 1988, sur les conseils de ma tante, qui était également mon professeur de calligraphie. Elle avait été l’élève d’Ukai Uchiyama, grand maître de sumi-é et de calligraphie, un artiste au génie reconnu qui enseignait de très nombreuses techniques et poussait à l’épanouissement des sensibilités artistiques individuelles chez ses élèves. Mon professeur était l’une d’elles. Lorsque je l’ai rencontrée, quoiqu’elle fût âgée de plus de 70 ans, ses peintures alliaient puissance et beauté ; j’ai immédiatement décidé de devenir son élève, d’apprendre ses techniques, de saisir son esprit.
Maintenant que mes professeurs ne sont plus de ce monde, mais que ce qu’ils m’ont enseigné vit encore en moi, je voudrais transmettre cet art traditionnel à mon tour, afin de le préserver, mais aussi de afin de faire partager le bonheur qu’il m’apporte. Je crois que c’est là mon devoir, et j’aspire à le faire avec vous.
